Pikeperch output

by on Aug.18, 2012, under Spinning, Daugava river

Beautiful fish - pikeperch (caught by Jura and released)Jura offered me to go to Daugava river with his motor boat this Saturday. I was free to go, so no excuses available! 🙂 It wasn’t our first attempt on Daugava, but the first it was so unsuccessful, so i didn’t even described it in my blog, was too lazy for that.

Today it was another story as everything worked as it should have. To my shame it worked well for Jura only! 🙂 Because my result today is a small perch, i quickly released. But for Jura it was 5 pikperches (zanders) and 2 perches.

This beauty was caught by Jura, not me

1 perch (released), Jura – 5 pikeperches (2.1kg, 1.7kg, 3 released), 2 perches (1 released)

Lack of something

by on Jun.10, 2012, under Float rod, Rings, Spinning, Tumsupe river

River in the morningTried everything today – spinning, float rod and rings. Had a lot of time, but today was not the case. Previous week glory did not repeat! 🙂 Spinning was completely empty today. Some rudds and roaches on float rod. But predators were absolutely silent today, as if there no predators in the river. Was kinda disappointing experience today.

Next time will concentrate on spinning. Previous years proved that spinning in the summer on this river gives good results.

washout (rudds and roaches)

Summer-house season opener

by on May.23, 2010, under Spinning, Tumsupe river

After quite a disappointment tournament at Kanieris lake yesterday (in terms of pikes) i was determined to catch something today at the summer-house river — Tumsupe.

It was very sunny day with high temperatures and taking into consideration that i was at river at midday i wasn’t hoping for a big fish. But i knew i will catch something since it is my home river, which i know the best. And yet another sunbathing day today.

Well known places gave result once again, since this year nothing changed. 1 pike and 2 perches were caught and released to their natural habitat — let them grow.

This is what i found on a snag underwater

1 pike (40cm), 2 perches — catch & release

Spinning on a small river

by on Aug.15, 2009, under Spinning, Tumsupe river

On Tumsupe riversideIt is my first time fishing this year, and after quite a big period of time. I went to a small river near my summer house, called Tumšupe (dark river). It is located near place also called Tumsupe.

I didn’t have boat today, that’s why i wasnt’t actually hoping for a fish at all, not talking about big ones. But still i wanted to catch something, and yes it happened for some reason today. May be the reason is that i wanted to get back to my hobby at last and spend time in a healthier way, than sitting at home.

1 pike (38cm)
