My first river tench

by on Jun.21, 2011, under Float rod, Tumsupe river

This tench fought very hardTwo weeks ago i spotted spawning tenches in the place, where i ussualy try to catch pikes and perches. Now i decided to try to catch tench, since it is settled fish. So i sacrificed my fishing day solely on float rod today.

In the beginning i was attacked by roaches, then perch came. Only closer to the evening tench came out of his grass. The main thing to catch tench is a warm weather, water temperature above +16°C and a lot of patience.

Visiting Ciemupe

by on May.15, 2011, under Float rod, Ciemupe

Neighbors offered me to go to a trout pond not far from Riga. Since my fishing the previous day was canceled – i gave it a go!

Ponds turned out to be very small and full of fish. Must say it wasn’t actually challenging task to catch a trout there. Every 1kg of trout costs 5 Ls on exit. So it is up to you when you should stop. I wanted only 1 fish for me – which was caught in 5 minutes. The remaining time i have spent on playing with crucians carps in other pond. Also caught few tenches.

Float rod and species of fish

by on Aug.21, 2010, under Float rod, Spinning, Tumsupe river

About 700g of a fish with spinning and float rods today, the pike was hurt too badly to survive that's why i kept itDecided to try float rod today and bought worms prior to fishing.

The day was cloudy from the early morning and about 20°C warm, still decided to give it a try. Took spinning rod, float rod, lures, worms and boat of course too and went to the river. While pumping the boat, just noticed fish fry jumping out of the water, looked like a underwater perch behaviour. Took spinning rod, small Blue Fox spinner and caught the 150g perch on the second cast!

After that 2 perches and 1 pike were caught on Blue Fox spinner, 2 pikes on popper and rudds with roach on float rod in the secret place! In total 4 species of fish were caught today: pike, perch, rudd and roach. Was really fascinated by rudd, very beautiful fish.
